Araneida is a cloud-based web hacking service that leverages a cracked version of Acunetix, a commercial web application vulnerability scanner, to conduct offensive reconnaissance on target websites, scrape user data, and identify exploitable vulnerabilities. Research by Silent Push indicates that Araneida is being advertised on multiple cybercrime forums and boasts a Telegram channel with nearly 500 subscribers, where it shares success stories of compromising over 30,000 websites in six months. Investigations have traced Araneida’s operations to a Turkish IT firm, Bilitro Yazilim, and an individual named Altug Sara, though neither responded to requests for comment. The makers of Acunetix, Invicti Security, have acknowledged the unauthorized use of their software and are attempting to counteract these illicit activities.
